PENTAX to Exhibit Upcoming Digital SLR Camera Products
at PMA 2007 in the US and Photo Imaging Expo 2007 in Japan

PENTAX Corporation is pleased to announce the exhibition of its soon-to-be-released digital SLR camera products, all currently under development, at two major trade shows in the U.S.A. and Japan. PMA 2007 is America's largest annual photographic merchandise trade show, to be held from March 8 to 11, 2007, in Las Vegas, Nevada; the Photo Imaging Expo 2007 is one of Asia's largest annual photo and imaging merchandise trade fairs, and will be held from March 22 to 25 at Tokyo Big Sight in Tokyo.

1. [ Product type ]  Three interchangeable lenses for exclusive use with PENTAX digital SLR cameras

  These lenses are being developed as top-of-the-line Star-series lenses, which provide superior performance and technological excellence, including the advanced SDM system that ensures smooth, quiet autofocusing operation using the supersonic motor installed in the lens body.

Product information :

  • A uni-focal super-telephoto lens, with an angle of view equivalent to a 306mm lens in the 35mm format

Model name ( tentative ) : smc PENTAX-DA 300mm F4 ED [IF] SDM

Product information :

  • A uni-focal super-telephoto lens, with an angle of view equivalent to a 460mm lens in the 35mm format
  • Market launch tentatively scheduled for September 2007
Model name ( tentative ) : smc PENTAX-DA 60-250mm F4 ED [IF] SDM

Product information :

  • A super-telephoto zoom lens, with an angle-of-view coverage equivalent to a 92mm-to-383mm zoom lens in the 35mm format
  • Market launch tentatively scheduled for December 2007

2. [ Product type ]  Compact, lightweight interchangeable macro lens for exclusive use with PENTAX digital SLR cameras

Product information :

  • The first macro lens of the high-quality Limited series, offering outstanding image description performance
  • An angle of view equivalent to a 53.5mm lens in the 35mm format; ideal for use in normal applications as a standard lens
  • Market launch schedule to be announced at a later date

3. [ Product type ]  Lens-interchangeable medium-format digital SLR camera

  • Kodak-developed extra-large CCD image sensor with 31.6 total megapixels ( tentative )

  • A pair of storage-media slots for the loading of an SD memory card and a CompactFlash card
  • Market launch schedule to be announced at a later date

4. [ Product type ]  Interchangeable standard lens for exclusive use with PENTAX medium-format digital SLR camera

  Model name ( tentative ) : smc PENTAX-D FA645 55mm F2.8

Product information :

  • A standard lens designed for exclusive use with the PENTAX 645 Digital ( tentative name )
  • Advanced optical design with all properties of lens element groups, including curvature and lens coating, optimized for digital photography
  • Can be used with existing PENTAX 645-series medium-format SLR film cameras
  • Market launch schedule to be announced at a later date ( Will be marketed simultaneously with the PENTAX 645 Digital camera body )
